Happy Monday, kids!
Last week was a busy one getting the house together for photos and the listing, so if you missed Part 1 of Our First “Flip”, make sure you check it out! In last weeks post I mentioned that we
are selling… oops! I mean… WE SOLD!!! That’s right! Less than 24 hours after listing we received multiple offers that led to a small bidding war! After hours of decision making we can now happily say that our house is PENDING! We could not be happier!
Luckily we won’t be “homeless” for long… We’ve already found our next “Flip” and are patiently awaiting a few things to be taken care of with that property! Stay tuned for more on our new baby!
In the interim, and with mixed emotions (happy, excited, anxious, nervous, etc…) I can now show all the AFTER pictures of our completely updated and renovated “First Flip”
We installed textured wallpaper on the bottom half of the chair rail all the way up the stairs, hung curtains, painted and refinished the stairs, and replaced fixtures.
Probably one of my favorite rooms in this house! I swear this is the room I switched up the most! The one thing that always stayed constant was the monochromatic gray color scheme… We added carpet in here, painted, and cleaned up all the trim and the fireplace. Also, added some DIY wall sconces, and overhead lighting!
If you hadn’t noticed already, I removed almost ALL of the radiator covers… NOT A FAN… plus it heats the rooms far more efficiently with them off! In this room the most dramatic change was the chandelier! I will be sad to leave it behind… that and my drapes! (I waited forever for that fabric to arrive!) You can see some of this room’s DIY posts HERE and HERE!
WOW! 2 months after finishing the biggest DIY of my life I still find myself staring… it’s not considered rude if it’s your own kitchen, right?! This was a HUGE project! You can see ALL the DIY projects HERE, HERE, and HERE!
This was my biggest “bang for my buck” room! Such a small little powder room but with a lot of drama! We wallpapered, added the board and batten, painted, change out fixtures and lighting, and re-groutred the tile! Those DIY shelves might be my favorite part… Check out the posts HERE and HERE!
We spend a LOT of time in this room, (most of it sleeping) but, you have to have a relaxing place to lay your head at the end of the day! We added custom barn wood valances, sliding track window treatments, crown molding, board and batten, new fireplace, and lighting! Check out how I made that bench HERE!
This was also a MAJOR change and transformation! This now spacious walk in master bath, was once three, (YES THREE) separate closet sized doors. One with a shower stall, one a toilet, the other a cramped closet! It’s now a spa-like retreat with a glass walk-in shower, DIY custom built vanity, and tiled floor with radiant floor heating!
One of the less dramatic changes in the house, but still a cutie… Painted built-in and molding, re-grouted floor tile and all original wall tiles, and changed lighting and fixtures!
Who doesn’t love a retreat like place to stay while visiting a friend or relatives house? Biggest change in here was paint, custom DIY curtains and rods, and my handmade wood pendant fixture!
Everything in this room was a DIY! Spare bedroom turned movie room! We made custom day beds that stretch the length of the room, all upholstered in black velvet! Valance and drapes were custom made by myself along with ALL those pillows! I even made the faux bearskin rug! The wall treatment was done using a stencil! It was time consuming but SO easy! You can get them HERE!
We went from “falling apart deck” to what we think would have been the original brick patio! Almost every brick was found somewhere on the property… We added a retaining wall all around and landscaping, a pond, and commercial outdoor string lights! Such a nice spot in the summer!
When weather permits, we love hanging out here… It’s like an outdoor living room! Here we replaced all the original screens, painted, added curtains and carpet, and added some ceiling lights!
And there you have it, kids!
What do you think? It’s been an AMAZING process getting this home to where it is now, and I’ll be sad to see it go! I do know, that whoever has it next will enjoy it for years to come… On to bigger and better projects! Now we just need the keys to the new place! I hope you follow along our next “flipping” journey!
As always, make sure to like, comment, follow, and share! It means the world to me seeing all your feedback and love! It really keeps me going!
Until next time, kids!
Do what you love, and love what you do!
