A brief overview of our eminent kitchen remodel!
It’s finally happened! I’ve gotten Mr. Big onboard with flipping the kitchen! (and by onboard, I mean he’s still skeptical… but willing). So… today I thought I would share my kitchen design ideas with you and see what you think!
I am a very visual person (who isn’t), but I can always see in my head what the finished product will look like… but not everyone can see into my head! So instead of trying to explain every detail of my design process/vision I came up with this “mood board” for you! (it was originally for Mr. Big) but you can reap the glory of my labors!
If you remember my post from last Friday, I shared one of my favorite before/after kitchens at Apartment Therapy… I just LOVE the look of gray cabinets! It’s very stylish these days and I’ve loved them since I first saw them! Seeing that gray is my go-to color choice in our house (literally 50 shades) that was my starting point!
It was harder than I thought to pick just the right shades of gray and white I’d be using though…
There are TOO many to choose from… And since I’m keeping the original tile floors to save money, it’s even harder because everything needs to flow! I ended up choosing “Dovetail” gray by Sherwin Williams, and “White Flour” white, also by Sherwin Williams.
I really had to commit to these colors considering the paint is $78 a gallon!
OUCH! (cheaper than new cabinets)
I’m really loving the gold hardware… I think it will really mesh well with the existing door hardware around the house and dining room! These pulls are from Ikea and are realatively inexpensive… And I only need 6!
I’m also obsessed with these two pendants for over the island… We shall see… This is just a starting point and I have a long road ahead but I’m so excited! First step is to get all the doors cleaned and primed for paint! Stay tuned for my progress photos along the way!
